Ambassador congratulates all Lithuanian Americans with the Centennial of restored Independence
I warmly congratulate all Lithuanian Americans and all friends of Lithuania on the Day of Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence. Hundred years ago in Vilnius, the founding fathers of modern Lithuanian State signed a document, which has become a symbol uniting all people living in Lithuania and Lithuanians living abroad. The declaration of February 16th has been the source of inspiration for our modern State‘s heroes who fought for free and independent Lithuania in the past century.
February 16th is a remarkable date for our nation, our state and for every Lithuanian, living back home or abroad - it is a birthday of our restored state. The celebration of the Centennial is a success story for all Lithuanians. Each of us is a small, but vital part of Lithuania.
We are especially grateful to our countrymen living in America and our American friends. Only with your help and your efforts, we were able to strengthen Lithuania’s independence and ensure solid and continuous support of the Unites States government.
On this beautiful and special occasion, I encourage you to continue cherish Lithuanian heritage, spread the message about Lithuania around the world, be proud of the great history of Lithuania and maintain a strong bond with our homeland.
I wish you joyful and meaningful celebration of the February 16th!
Ambassador Rolandas Kriščiūnas
