Lithuanian Passport and ID card
Everyone over 2 years old must be present at the Embassy when applying for passport and/or ID card. Every applicant must make an appointment for the renewal or the issuance of a Lithuanian passport and/or ID card.
Renewal of the Lithuanian passport and/or ID card
When applying for the renewal of your Lithuanian passport and/or ID card please bring:
- Old passport or ID card (in case it is lost/stolen, filled in form regarding loss of a document).
- For children under 2 years old: please bring 2 photos (similar to U.S. passport-size, detailed requirements). Photos of the persons over 2 years old will be taken at the Embassy;
- Consular fee (paid at the Embassy by the bank card).
Applying for the first Lithuanian passport and/or ID card (after the reinstatement of the Lithuanian citizenship)
When applying for the first Lithuanian passport and/or ID card after the reinstatement of the Lithuanian citizenship, a person needs to bring:
- Valid U.S. (or other) passport or ID card (driver licenses are not accepted). In case of children under 18, parent must also attend and present a passport or ID card;
- For children under 2 years old: please bring 2 photos (similar to U.S. passport-size, detailed requirements). Photos of the persons over 2 year old will be taken at the Embassy;
- Consular fee (paid at the Embassy by the bank card).
Please be informed, that a document received by mail is activated only when the Embassy receives a notification from the person about the receipt of the document by mail or electronic means.
The usual term for issuing or renewing a passport or ID card through the Embassy is approximately 2 months.
