Boston to Host North American Lithuanian Business Forum

The North American Lithuanian Business Forum (NALB Forum) – a premier transatlantic event connecting industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers from Lithuania, the United States, Canada, and Mexico – returns to Greater Boston on June 11.

Held annually in a different North American city, the NALB Forum adapts its thematic focus to highlight regional strengths. This year’s edition will spotlight life sciences, defense & dual-use industries, information and communication technologies, and creative industries. The central theme will be the intersection of business and science, with a special emphasis on the thriving startup and innovation ecosystems in both Lithuania and Massachusetts — two global hubs known for their excellence in scientific research, technological development, and entrepreneurial momentum.

“Lithuania has built one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems in Europe, driven by innovation, talent, and ambition,” said Lukas Savickas, Lithuania’s Minister of the Economy and Innovation. “By strengthening ties with Massachusetts — the leader in the US and the world in R&D spending per capita — we’re opening new doors for Lithuanian companies and researchers to scale, collaborate, and unlock their full potential on the transatlantic stage.”
The 2025 Forum is honored to be held under the patronage of the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, and Governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey — a testament to the deepening ties between Lithuania and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

“The Massachusetts’ Lithuanian American community makes tremendous contributions in business, academia, and culture throughout our regions,” said Jeevan Ramapriya, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment.  “Global trade and foreign investment drive our economy, fueling job creation and opening new opportunities for residents across Massachusetts. Innovators and cutting-edge companies from around the world choose our state for its strong economy and top-tier talent, making Massachusetts a global hub for innovation and growth. The Healey-Driscoll administration welcomes attendees of the North American Lithuanian Business Forum and encourages them to explore all Massachusetts has to offer. We look forward to building a strong partnership in the future.”

Among the 40+ distinguished speakers, attendees will hear from Minister Savickas and join a fireside chat with renowned Lithuanian biotech entrepreneur Professor Vladas Bumelis. Once a pioneering scientist, Prof. Bumelis now leads Northway Biotech Group, which includes a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Massachusetts — a compelling example of a successful Lithuanian-American biotech collaboration.
With over 300 participants expected, the NALB Forum offers more than just dialogue. It serves as a high-impact networking platform, bringing together decision-makers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and government officials. Attendees will engage in sector-specific discussions, exchange ideas, and forge cross-border partnerships that shape the future of transatlantic business and innovation.
