FEBRUARY 15th - DEADLINE FOR LITHUANIAN CONTESTANTS TO SUBMIT THEIR APLICATIONS FOR THE CONTEST OF THE CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL PRINCESS TITLE.

February 15th - Deadline for Lithuanian contestants for Cherry Blossom Festival Princess. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC takes place April 3-9 and includes “princesses” from all 50 states and from foreign countries. The “princesses” are selected for their academic achievement and for their participation in civic, social and international activities. They will visit the White House, Congress, schools and the Japanese Embassy, and participate in the Cherry Blossom Parade and other events.
Contestant requirements are the following:
--must be 20-25 years of age and unmarried
--be fluent in English
--be available for the entire festival (April 3-9)
--have her own Lithuanian national costume
--cover her own expenses to travel to Washington, DC
--cover her own living expenses in Washington, DC

Interested contestants should submit to the Lithuanian Embassy by February 15th their biography (in English) and a cover letter explaining why they should be selected (in Lithuanian) to: leonas.garbacauskas@ltembassyus.org
