Temporary Travel Document
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Washington, DC, issues Lithuanian repatriation certificate - temporary travel document (Asmens grįžimo pažymėjimas) to Lithuanian citizens and stateless persons bearing Lithuanian residency permit, if their passport (travel document) was lost, damaged or expired; as well as to minor children of Lithuanian citizen(s) born in a foreign state who do not have valid passport or other travel documents.
Please note that the Temporary travel document is issued only for returning to Lithuania, it is neither good to continue the trip with the certificate nor travel to other countries that are not related to the return to Lithuania.
The validity period of the Temporary travel document is determined by taking into account the duration of the return trip or other important circumstances, usually it is for no longer than 15 days. Validity period indicated in the document is not extended.
Required documents:
- filled in Application form;
- 2 passport photos;
- Expired passport; if the passport is lost - a copy of it and/oror another identity document with photo and filled in form regarding loss of a document;
- Consular fee (paid at the Embassy by bank card).
To receive the iisued document by mail, the applicant must also present prepaid self-addressed registered envelope (with a tracking number) from USPS or UPS.
