Foreing Minister Linkevičius discusses bilateral economic relations with the representatives of U.S. companies in Lithuania
On 4 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius held a video conference with members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania, and discussed economic relations between the United States and Lithuania, international and regional policy, trade issues, and the Government’s measures to fight the COVID-19 outbreak, the relaxation of quarantine measures, and the opening of the state’s borders.
“The USA is Lithuania’s strategic partner in many areas. We will continue to strive to increase trade volumes and mutual investment, as well as to strengthen our business cooperation. Lithuania is a reliable country to do business in. Its environment is conducive to business development in various sectors," said Lithuania’s Foreign Minister.
L. Linkevičius welcomed the fruitful trade and investment cooperation between the two countries and noted that the U.S. investors could always rely on the support of the Lithuanian Government.
The video conference was attended by more than 50 business representatives and foreign ambassadors residing in Lithuania.
Founded in 1993 by a small group of American companies and individuals, the American Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania (AmCham Lithuania) is a non-governmental business association representing more than 130 U.S. and local companies in Lithuania. Today, AmCham is a leading international business organization in the country, which aims to advocate members’ interests to improve local business environment. Its members include Hollister, Thermo Fisher Scientific, 3M, Western Union, IBM, Moog, Nasdaq and other U.S.-based global companies.
