Four Lithuania-U.S. Economic Cooperation Agreements Signed at Business Forum in Miami
The Lithuania-U.S. Business Forum, held in Miami, brought together nearly 250 representatives of businesses, institutions, and investment communities from Lithuania and the United States to strengthen economic cooperation and explore new opportunities in trade, innovation, and investment.
Addressing forum participants, President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda highlighted the growing economic dimension of the Lithuania-U.S. partnership.
“Lithuanian businesses have much to offer Miami. Our companies possess the technology, expertise, and ambition to compete in one of the world’s largest markets. Lithuania can offer the United States reliable partners, from lasers, photonics, and electronics to life sciences, financial technologies, and the defense industry,” President Nausėda said.
The forum resulted in the signing of four cooperation agreements between Lithuanian and U.S. partners. Lithuania’s Ministry of the Economy and Innovation and U.S. defense technology company Mach Industries agreed to cooperate in developing production capacities for jet propulsion systems and engines in Lithuania. The ports of Klaipėda and Miami formalized their intention to expand bilateral cooperation. Lithuanian company DBOX, together with XTI Aerospace, Drone Nerds, and Parrot, established a partnership to develop drone solutions for public safety applications. In addition, the Port of Klaipėda and the Corpus Christi Regional Economic Development Corporation signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation in LNG and transatlantic energy supply chains.
As part of the forum program, President Nausėda participated in a discussion on innovation and security in an uncertain world, moderated by Daniel Cancel, Miami Bureau Chief of Bloomberg News.
Presentations on the business and investment environments in Lithuania and the United States were delivered by Lithuania’s Minister of the Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas, representatives of Select Florida, and other Lithuanian and U.S. government and business leaders.
The event also featured welcoming remarks by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Member of the Florida House of Representatives Mike Redondo, and U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce John A. Squires.
Participants represented a broad range of sectors, including high technology, information technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, defense, electronics, financial technology, manufacturing, and creative industries.
The United States remains the largest destination for Lithuanian foreign direct investment. Lithuanian companies continue to expand their presence across the U.S. market through investments ranging from furniture manufacturing to life sciences and advanced technologies. Among the forum participants were several Lithuanian companies with an established footprint in the United States, including Northway Biotech, active in the life sciences sector in Massachusetts; Nord Security, one of Lithuania’s most prominent technology brands in the U.S. market; and SBA Home North Carolina, the largest Lithuanian business investment in the United States to date.
The Lithuania-U.S. Business Forum was organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in the United States in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Innovation Agency Lithuania, and the European-American Chamber of Commerce Florida.
