HE PRESIDENT WILL DISCUSS THE ENHANCEMENT OF WOMEN’S ROLE IN PUBLIC AND POLITICAL LIFE WITH OTHER GLOBAL FEMALE LEADERS IN NEW YORK

On Monday, November 8, Dalia Grybauskaitė, President of the Republic of Lithuania, will meet with other female heads of state and government in New York to discuss preparations for the high-level meeting of the world women leaders to be held by the Community of Democracies in Vilnius next summer. They will also confer on advancing active women involvement in public and political life.
Lithuania and the United States currently co-chair the Community of Democracies' working group on gender equality.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė will deliver a lecture on the efforts to boost global economy and Lithuania's experience in managing the economic crisis at the Columbia University in New York City.
Monday evening the President will attend the Glamour Women of the Year event where she will receive the Woman of the Year 2010 Award in the women leaders group.
