Largest Lithuanian Investment in the US: SBA Home furniture manufacturing facility officially opened in North Carolina

On February 25, Lithuanian furniture manufacturer SBA Home officially opened its first factory in the United States, located in North Carolina.

The launch marks a historic expansion for one of the largest furniture manufacturing groups in the Baltics and a long-standing partner of IKEA for more than 30 years. The investment — exceeding $70 million — is the largest Lithuanian business investment in the United States to date. The new facility is expected to create 250 highly skilled jobs in North Carolina while further strengthening economic ties between Lithuania and the United States.

The factory represents a significant milestone in the international growth of Lithuanian industry and reinforces the region’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing. During the opening ceremony, Lithuanian Ambassador to the United States, Gediminas Varvuolis, delivered congratulatory remarks.

Ambassador Varvuolis noted that the investment aligns closely with U.S. administration's economic priorities: "The U.S. government wants the business that relocated to foreign countries to come back, but they are also very happy when foreign investors do those investments here in order to open their factories and their production facilities to cater to the U.S. market," he said.

While the opening marks an important chapter in SBA Group’s expansion in North America, the company is already planning further growth. “This project is a strategically important step for SBA Group in the U.S. market, where we see clear long-term potential,” said Jurgita Radzevičė, CEO of SBA Home. “The factory is currently operating one shift, and recruitment for a second shift is already underway. In the near future, we plan to further increase production volumes and expand our team,” she notes.

Demonstrating its commitment to the local community, SBA Home North Carolina also donated new pickleball courts. The first ceremonial match was played by Mocksville Mayor William Marklin, symbolizing the beginning of a strong and lasting partnership between Lithuanian business and the Mocksville community.
