Lithuania is represented in the Festival of the Cultures (Ferias de las Culturas) that has started in the Mexico City on 21 May
On May 21st the Festival of the Cultures (Ferias de las Culturas) has started in the Mexico City. This is one of the biggest events in Mexico that attracts many visitors. The Embassy with the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Mexico and Mexican Lithuanian Community are participating in this event for the 3rd time (previously participated in 2014 and 2015) and successfully presents Lithuanian historical, culinarian and cultural heritage, Lithuanian economy and tourism possibilities. In 2015 the Festival has attracted over 3 million people and the Lithuanian Pavilion was one of the most visited spots at the Festival.
During the first days of the 2016 Festival the Lithuania pavilion attracted large number of visitors and some 10 000 flyers were distributed to the interested visitors this week-end alone. Visitors took hundreds of pictures with Lithuanians wearing typical Lithuanian costumes while Lithuanians shared information, tips about travel to Lithuania, recipes and others.
Some visitors were happy to find Lithuanian beer, vodka and other products recently available in Mexico.
This event attracts the victors from all across Mexico, local dignitaries and business people as well as foreign tourists.
The festival will continue till June 5th.
