LITHUANIAN CONTESTANT FOR CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL 2012

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC takes place on April 7-14, 2012 and includes “princesses” from all 50 states and from foreign countries.  The “princesses” are selected for their academic achievement and for their participation in civic, social and international activities.  They will visit the White House, Congress, schools and the Japanese Embassy, and participate in the Cherry Blossom Parade and other events. 

 

Contestant requirements are the following:

-- 20-25 years of age and unmarried, have no kids

-- contestant or her parents born in Lithuania

-- fluent English

-- availability for all the festival events (April 7-14)

 

The contestant is responsible for:

-- having her own Lithuanian national costume and other costumes listed in the Application Requirements

-- covering her own expenses to travel to Washington, DC (if any)

-- covering her own living expenses in Washington, DC (if any)

 

Interested contestants should submit to the Lithuanian Embassy by January 15th their biography and a motivation letter (Form C, see attachment) to: liana.vazbiene@urm.lt
