World’s first tunable wavelength laser NT200 produced by Lithuanian ISO9001 certified manufacturer of lasers, laser systems and components for R&D and industrial applications EKSPLA www.ekspla.com has been named among the finalists for the prestigious 2010 Prism Awards for Photonics Innovation. The 2010 Prism Awards recognize photonics products that break with conventional ideas, solve problems, and improve life. Finalists and winners are chosen by an independent panel of industry experts.
Seventeen finalists from around the world have been announced in nine categories of Defense and Security, Detectors, Sensing, Imaging and Cameras, Industrial Lasers, Information and Communication, Life Sciences and Biophotonics, Optics and Optical Components, Other Light Sources, Scientific Lasers, and Test, Measurement, Metrology. NT200 laser of EKSPLA has been nominated among the three finalists in the category of Scientific Lasers, next to two lasers of Coherent Inc. of the US and MPB Communications of Canada in cooperation with the European Southern Observatory.
The finalists will exhibit at the Photonics West exhibition at the Moscone Center 25-27 January. The Prism Awards winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on 26 January in San Francisco.
The awards are sponsored by the international society for optics and photonics SPIE, founded in 1955, and Photonics Media. Serving more than 180,000 constituents from 168 countries, SPIE annually organizes and sponsors approximately 25 major technical forums, exhibitions, and education programs in North America, Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific, and supports scholarships, grants, and other education programs around the world.
