LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITIES BUILD TIES WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON
In the middle of October a delegation of the University of Houston - prof. of Biology and Biochemistry Stuart Dryer and dr. Jokūbas Žiburkas - traveled to Lithuania where they signed Memorandums of Understanding with two Lithuanian universities - the University of Vilnius and the Lithuanian University of Health and Sience. That step is considered as a very promising beginning for cooperation in research, joint programmes and exchanges. While in Lithuania, representatives of the University of Houston met in a separate meetings with rector of the Vilnius University Benediktas Juodka and rector at interim Lithuanin University of Health and Science prof. Remigijus Žaliūnas. The University of Houston is the leading public research university in the international City of Huston with 4 million residents.
