MEETING WITH TOMAS VENCLOVA: POETRY AND OTHER THOUGHTS

Renowned Lithuanian poet, author, and Yale University Professor Tomas Venclova will be in Washington, DC on Saturday, November 6, to meet with the Lithuanian community, for a poetry reading and discussion. The program will be in Lithuanian. The event will  start at 4 p.m.  in the Latvian Hall in Rockville.

Tomas Venclova is one of the most famous contemporary Lithuanian authors. Born in 1937 in Klaipeda, Venclova Co-founded the Lithuanian Helsinki-Group in 1976, in 1977 expatriated from the Soviet Union. Since 1980 Venclova is a Professor of Slavic Literatures at the Yale University. Publications include: several collection of poems, poetry-translations, essays, articles and novels.
