On the eve of the Day of Solidarity with Belarus, Lithuanian and Polish embassies in Washington, D.C. were illuminated with the flag of #FreeBelarus.
Belarusian opposition, Lithuanian and Polish diplomats as well as friends of democratic Belarus in Washington, D.C. gathered to show support and solidarity for the Belarusian fight for freedom.
„Today we stand together with all Belarusian political prisoners, with those who are being persecuted by the regime, with everyone who keep protesting in the streets of Belarus and all the people who keep fighting for democratic Belarus“ said Dovydas Špokauskas, Chargé d‘Affaires of the Embassy of Lithuania to the U.S.
The representatives of the U.S. State Department reiterated the U.S. support to the pro-democratic protests and Belarusian people’s fight for their right to live in a free and democratic country. „Today more then ever we need your and all international community’s support“ –said representative of Belarusian opposition.
The 7th of February marks six months since the beginning of pro-democracy protests across Belarus. On this day the opposition leader Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya called on all non-indifferent people to support Belarusian protesters by joining the Day of Solidarity with Belarus.
