The Path of Life and Death: Tribute Run 2024
The Embassy of Lithuania in Washington, D.C. invites you to join the XXXII tribute run “The Path of Life and Death” and commemorate Freedom Defenders Day in Lithuania together with us.
The run will take place on January 13, Saturday, 11:00 AM.
Meet up place is the main stairs of the U.S. Capitol. The route will be U.S. Capitol – Lincoln Memorial and back. Participants will also be able to run or walk a shorter distance from U.S. Capitol to Washington Monument and back. All participants will receive the medals, Lithuanian souvenirs and hot tea at the finish line!

January 13, 1991 marks the anniversary when unarmed civilians challenged the aggression of the Soviet Union in Lithuania. Soviet tanks killed 14 and injured around 1000 civilians who stood tall defending the Lithuanian Parliament and the main TV tower. Every year a tribute run is organized in Lithuanian cities and around the world to remember those who died and who fought for Lithuania’s freedom.
