Ukrainian Americans honored Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linkevičius with the annual award
On October 11, the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) during their congressional reception on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of UNIS, honored Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius with a "Friend of UNIS" award.
The award was given for Minister’s continuous support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.
Ambassador Rolandas Kriščiūnas accepted the award on behalf of Minister Linkevičius.
"Today Lithuania stands with Ukraine as her friend and as an ally. Aggression against Ukraine was also an act of aggression against the values that unite Euro Atlantic community. Therefore it is not Ukraine's fight alone. I thank Ukrainian National Information Service for this award and for its tireless efforts in informing the public about the gravest dangers to Europe's freedom in the 21st century. In this common mission, Lithuania will continue supporting Ukraine and its strive for a peaceful future in Euroatlantic family," in his letter wrote Minister Linkevičius.
UNIS Acts as a liaison office of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA). UNIS was founded in 1997.
