United States-Baltic Summit will be held in Washington DC on April 3
Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė will attend a summit meeting of the Baltic countries and the United States scheduled for April 3 in Washington.
The Summit demonstrates the strength of U.S.-Baltic ties and close relationship between Lithuania and the United States. In the centennial year of Lithuania's restored independence, the meeting will further consolidate strategic partnership with the United States and define further cooperation guidelines.
President Dalia Grybauskaitė together with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid, Latvian President Raimonds Vējonis and U.S. President Donald Trump will discuss the most pressing regional and transatlantic issues.The meeting will also focus on defense, energy security and business contacts. Preparations for the upcoming NATO summit aimed at further reforming allied defense and strengthening the Eastern flank will be on the agenda in Washington.
The United States is Lithuania’s strategic partner in the areas of military and energy security. Lithuanian and American soldiers help to ensure, bilaterally, the security of the Baltic states and Poland across the region.
