On 18 October in Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council, which focused on the Eastern Partnership, the migration crisis caused by the Belarusian regime, the EU’s relations with the Gulf countries, the situation in the Western Balkans region, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and other foreign policy issues.

On 14 October in New York, the UN General Assembly elected Lithuania to the Human Rights Council (HRC) for the 2022-2024 term. 178 UN member states expressed their support to Lithuania. Until now, the country has been an observer state of the UN Human Rights Council and will become a full-fledged member for the first time on 1 January 2022 for a period of three years.

The interlocutors expressed their positions on relations with China and Russia, particularly focusing on prospects of bilateral economic cooperation.

On 11 October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended a meeting of the Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and British Foreign Ministers in London, the United Kingdom, which focused on relations with Russia and China, the Euro-Atlantic security, climate change policy, cybersecurity, and economic cooperation.

On 11 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will pay a working visit to London, United Kingdom, to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the United Kingdom.

On 28 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis paid a working visit to Lisbon, Portugal, where he met with the Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Augusto Santos Silva. The Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Portugal, EU relations with Belarus, Russia and China, as well as the EU’s role in Africa.

On 22 September in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and discussed the development of bilateral relations, as well as challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region.
